We are celebrating an exceptional set of results in the recent London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations, with 77 pupils showcasing their talents in performance and communication.
An impressive 91% of pupils were awarded the highest grade of Distinction, while the remaining candidates achieved a Merit. This is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects the dedication, confidence, and creativity of the children.
LAMDA examinations are internationally recognised and designed to develop a wide range of skills, from public speaking and interpretation to performance and self-expression. At Prince’s Mead, these opportunities form part of the school’s commitment to nurturing pupils’ love of the arts.
Melissa Gardiner and Jack Shaw-Downie, LAMDA teachers, at Prince’s Mead, said:
“We are immensely proud of every child who took their exam. These results are not just about performance on the day, but about the personal growth, teamwork, and confidence the pupils have built along the way. To see such a high percentage of Distinctions is testament to their hard work and passion for drama and communication.”
Headmaster, Adam King, added:
“Developing strong communication skills is at the heart of a Prince’s Mead education, and LAMDA provides a wonderful platform for children to express themselves and grow in confidence. These outstanding results are a true credit to both our pupils and their teachers.”
This success builds on Prince’s Mead’s strong reputation for drama and the performing arts, where pupils are encouraged to explore their creativity, gain confidence in public speaking, and develop skills that will support them well beyond the stage.
