Prince’s Mead Welcomes New Chair of the PMA: Michael Walsh

Prince’s Mead is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Walsh as the new Chair of the Prince’s Mead Association (PMA). A familiar face within the school community, Michael brings both professional expertise and a deep personal connection to the role.

Michael and his wife, Katie, have two sons currently at Prince’s Mead, in Year 3 and Year 1, with twins set to join the Nursery in 2026. As a parent and an enthusiastic supporter of school events, Michael is already an active part of the vibrant Prince’s Mead community. He now looks forward to continuing the incredible work of the PMA, helping to further strengthen the bonds between families, staff, and the wider school.

Professionally, Michael is a barrister practising in London, specialising in commercial chancery, property, and professional liability work. He was appointed King’s Counsel in March 2025. He has chaired numerous committees relating to a wide range of issues including events, technology, real estate, training, and recruitment, bringing a wealth of leadership experience to the PMA.

Speaking about his new role, Michael said:

“It’s an honour to take on the role of Chair of the Prince’s Mead Association. The warmth, spirit, and commitment of the Prince’s Mead community are very special, and I’m excited to work alongside the PMA team to continue supporting the school through fun, purposeful events that bring us all together. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Cousins for his inspirational leadership and dedication to the PMA in his two year term as Chair.

Michael is a keen sports enthusiast, with a love of rugby and cycling. He also admits to having a golf game that’s “entertaining, if not always effective!”.

Headmaster Adam King welcomed the appointment, saying:

“Michael’s energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the Prince’s Mead community make him a wonderful choice as Chair of the PMA. I am confident he will continue to foster the spirit of collaboration and celebration that makes our school community so special.”

As Chair, Michael will oversee the PMA’s busy calendar of events from mufti days to major highlights such as the Fireworks Night, Easter Egg Hunt, Colour Run, and Summer Fete and Camp Out. These initiatives not only raise funds but enrich the experience of every child and family at Prince’s Mead.

If you’re a current parent and would like to get involved, please contact Michael and the PMA Committee at pma@princesmeadschool.org.uk, whether it’s helping at an event, offering ideas, or just lending a hand, all support is warmly welcomed.
