The Stepping Stones Awards are designed to help families begin their journey with Prince’s Mead, offering an independently means-tested reduction of up to 25% on school fees for eligible children joining Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3.
What are the Stepping Stones Awards?
Throughout our history, Prince’s Mead has sought to open doors and create opportunity, while evolving to reflect the needs of our families. The Stepping Stones Awards are a practical expression of that belief, providing families with financial support at the start of a child’s education.
The Award partially covers a pupil’s school fees, up to a maximum of 25% of fees. ​
Who is eligible?
The Stepping Stones Awards are available to families:​

Applying for a place in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 or Year 3.

Who meet the criteria of an independent financial assessment.

Who can contribute the remaining school fees as they increase incrementally from Reception to Year 6 and in line with annual inflationary increases.

Who can cover additional associated costs such as; uniform, school trips, optional clubs and activities, and transport to school.

How are the awards assessed?
We work in partnership with Bursary Administration Limited to ensure a fair, independent and confidential assessment process They will request information on all relevant sources of income and capital assets, and pass this to the School.
How to apply
Applying for a Stepping Stones Award is part of the standard admissions process:

Fill out our Stepping Stones Awards Enquiry Form.

Our Registrar will be in touch to invite your child to attend a taster day.

Families complete the financial assessment process.

Following assessment you will be informed:​
a. Whether a place can be offered.
b. Whether a Stepping Stones Award will be made.
​
Once awarded, the Stepping Stones Award entitlement will remain with a pupil throughout his or her time at the School, subject to financial circumstances being reviewed annually.
