Community

At Prince's Mead we provide plenty of opportunities for parents to connect with one another, the staff and teachers, and contribute to the success of the school.

Each half-term there is a Big Family Breakfast followed by our Friday Prayers Assembly. Parents enjoy attending these weekly assemblies when one class perform, and the week's Crown Points and Headmaster's Commendations are awarded. Parents are also invited to come and watch the weekly sports matches and our teatime music concerts throughout the year.

We have a very active PMA (Prince's Mead Association) which is run by a voluntary body of parents and teachers. They play a central role in our school community by welcoming new parents, sharing information, leading fundraising campaigns and running events that bring together the whole school community. Examples of recent events include Bonfire Night, Summer Fete and Camp Out, Golf Day, Colour Run, Christmas Fair and Wreath Making.

Charity
Giving back

At Prince’s Mead, giving back is a natural extension of our Crown Values of Kindness and Respect. We want our pupils to grow up not only aware of the world around them, but also active in making it a better place.

Each September, the whole school takes part in a vote to choose a charity to support for the year ahead. Parents are invited to put forward charities close to their hearts, and the shortlisted causes are then considered by the pupils before the final choice is made. This process ensures our fundraising is truly community-led and gives the children a sense of ownership and responsibility.

Fundraising is a joyful part of life at Prince’s Mead. Our annual Colour Run is a much-loved tradition, bringing together pupils, staff and families in a vibrant celebration that raises significant funds for our chosen charity.

Alongside this, pupils take part in a wide range of events, as well as initiating their own fundraisers. Through these experiences, our children not only raise money for important causes but also learn the deeper values of empathy, gratitude and service - qualities that will guide them well beyond their school years.
