An Exciting New Chapter for Early Years at Prince’s Mead

September has marked an exciting new chapter for Early Years at Prince’s Mead, as our expanded Nursery provision officially opened alongside significant enhancements to the Coach House and Early Years garden.

Following the announcement earlier this year, our Nursery now welcomes children from their second birthday and operates all year round, providing families with greater flexibility while continuing to offer the nurturing and enriching Early Years experience at the heart of Prince’s Mead.

Over the summer months, the Coach House, home to our Nursery, underwent a significant programme of renovation and enhancement, including the transformation of the first floor. The newly developed spaces provide a welcoming and stimulating environment for our youngest children, with plenty of opportunities to learn, play, explore and grow.

The enhancements have extended outdoors too. A brand-new treehouse was installed in our Early Years garden over the summer holidays and has quickly become a firm favourite with both Nursery and Reception children. From climbing and exploring to imaginative games and adventures, it has been wonderful to see the children enjoying the new structure together.

The shared garden is an important part of our Early Years experience. Nursery and Reception children have regular opportunities to play and explore alongside one another, helping Nursery children to become familiar with Reception staff, spaces and routines as they progress through Prince’s Mead. This supports a natural and seamless transition into Reception, with children able to take their next step in an environment and community they already know.

Beyond the Coach House and Early Years garden, children benefit from being part of the wider Prince’s Mead school community. Set within the beautiful 13-acre grounds of Worthy Park House, our Nursery children have access to an environment and range of specialist facilities rarely available in standalone nursery settings. Specialist teaching includes French, PE, Forest School, Music and Ballet, while our woodland and extensive outdoor spaces provide even more opportunities for discovery.

We have loved seeing our enhanced Early Years spaces come to life this September, filled with happy children learning, exploring and playing together, and we look forward to all that this exciting next chapter will bring.
