The atmosphere was electric at this year’s Winchester Primary Schools Swimming Gala, with schools from across the region converging for a thrilling day of aquatic excellence. IAPS Sailing Regatta
Year 5 pupils, Ed and Leo, were excited to represent Prince’s Mead at the IAPS sailing regatta this week, having both had their first dinghy sailing experience with Prince’s Mead Sailing Club. They had several weeks of training for the regatta which included sailing on the Thames and in exciting 20-knot winds at the National Sailing Academy (and Olympic 2012 venue) in Weymouth. This was their first taste of regatta sailing and the training gave them new skills in racing start

ISFA National Football Finals
On Tuesday, our U11 football team proudly represented the school at the Independent Schools National Football Finals, held at none other than St George’s Park – the home of England football and a setting truly worthy of the occasion. With the top 24 independent school teams in the country competing, it was always going to be a day to remember and it certainly delivered.

Silver Medals for U11 in the Hampshire Cup
Last Friday, the U11 Football Team travelled to Stoneham Lane Football Ground to play Sarisbury Junior School in the final of the Hampshire Cup. We were full of excitement and nerves for what lay ahead. After a tough first half for Prince’s Mead, we were 2-0 down. Sarisbury attacked well, and we knew we needed to up our game.

Flora Rides to Victory at National Schools’ Equestrian Competition
We are incredibly proud to share that Year 4 pupil Flora has galloped her way to a superb victory at the National Schools’ Equestrian Association (NSEA) competition, held at Sparsholt College at the end of March.

Gold at Hampshire Netball County Finals
Prince’s Mead’s netball team achieved an incredible milestone by winning gold medals at the Hampshire Netball County Finals on Monday, 31st March 2025. In a highly competitive tournament, the team played six pool games, a semi-final, and a final, emerging victorious in every single match. Their performance was a true testament to their determination, passion, self-belief, and teamwork.

Netball Team through to the Hampshire County Finals
Prince’s Mead’s netball team delivered an exceptional performance at the Winchester and Eastleigh District Qualifier on Thursday 20th March 2025, securing a well-deserved victory and progressing to the Hampshire County Finals on 31st March 2025. The squad showcased outstanding teamwork and skill, winning all five of their matches in dominant fashion. Their commitment to set plays, communication, and overall game strategy was evident throughout the tournament.

Hampshire Cup Semi-Final
In a gripping and hard-fought semi-final, Prince’s Mead emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over Weeke Primary, securing their place in the Hampshire Cup final. The match was an intense affair with two evenly matched teams, and despite the score line, it was a game that could have gone either way.

The Prince’s Mead U11 A and B teams travelled to Churcher’s Senior School on Wednesday 16th October 2024 to take part in their annual Netball Tournament. They were up against strong teams from Oakwood, Sherbourne House, Barrow Hills, PGS, Barfield, Frensham and Churcher’s Junior School.
