We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Prince’s Mead has once again been featured in the prestigious Tatler Schools Guide 2027.

Recognised as one of the top independent prep schools in the country, the feature celebrates the vibrant community, idyllic setting, and modern educational approach that make our school so special.

An Idyllic Setting for Growth

The review warmly highlights our unique environment, noting our stunning architecture - designed by the same architect as the Royal Opera House - as an “idyllic spot for a prep education.”

Beyond our beautiful buildings, Tatler applauded our commitment to outdoor learning and community spirit. Our Forest School was celebrated as a “much-used, much-loved part of life here,” with special mention of our newly installed canopy providing welcome shelter during cozy outdoor cook-ups around the firepit. The guide also noted our pupils' strong sense of social responsibility, celebrating the nearly £9,000 recently raised for charities chosen by the children themselves.

Innovation, Creativity, and School Life

The write-up shines a light on the rich variety of opportunities available to our pupils each day. Highlights include:

  • Academic Innovation: Our new 3D printers, which are busy “inspiring creative minds” across the curriculum.

  • Sporting Success: Celebrating that “football is thriving” as part of our broad physical education offerings.

  • Unforgettable Events: A nod to our beloved annual fireworks display, described as an “unmissable spectacle.”

Warmth, Support, and Confidence

Perhaps most rewarding of all is the recognition from our parent body regarding the supportive, nurturing atmosphere at Prince’s Mead. Tatler highlighted a quote from a current parent that truly speaks to our core ethos:

“We didn’t want a school based on the old-fashioned model of formidable teachers. Instead, we were looking for warm, approachable staff who help children grow in confidence.”

This sentiment sits at the heart of everything we aim to achieve. Under the leadership of Head Adam King, our dedicated team remains focused on providing an environment where children feel encouraged, valued, and empowered to discover their potential.

To find out more about life at Prince’s Mead, arrange a visit with our Head, or come along to our upcoming Open Morning on 9th October 2026.
