We are celebrating after raising an impressive £1,644.53 for Alfie’s Wish, the charity chosen by pupils as the school’s Charity of the Year in 2025.

Head Adam King praised the spirit behind the achievement, saying that he is “incredibly proud of our pupils and school community. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and generosity have been inspiring. Supporting Alfie’s Wish has given our pupils a meaningful way to make a difference, and this total reflects the compassion and teamwork that define our school.”

Pupils played an active part in the year’s fundraising efforts, organising their own initiatives to support the cause. Many took it upon themselves to raise money by selling artwork, hand‑made jewellery, cakes, and by completing extra chores at home.

The PMA, run by parent volunteers, also made a significant contribution, coordinating a series of fundraising events throughout the year including a Colour Run, Summer Fete and Camp Out, and Fireworks Night. Reflecting on the collective effort, Michael Walsh, Chair of the PMA, said:

“Our families, staff, and pupils always come together brilliantly, and this year has been no exception. Whether attending events, volunteering time, or contributing ideas, everyone played a part in reaching this fantastic total. We are delighted to support Alfie’s Wish through our fundraising.”

The fundraising year culminated in a whole‑school assembly, where the Head Boy and Head Girl proudly presented a cheque to Charlotte Butler, founder of Alfie’s Wish. Charlotte expressed her gratitude, saying:

"We would like to say a huge thank you to Prince’s Mead School for your kindness and for supporting Alfie’s Wish in 2025, including your generous donation of £1,644.53. This incredible amount will make a real difference to the children we support with cancer, giving them the chance to create precious memories with their families and loved ones after such a difficult journey. Thank you to everyone involved for all their fundraising, and to the children at the colour run for high-fiving Wishy, our mascot on the day – he loved it!"
