This morning we proudly presented a cheque for £6,968.52 to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA). The total marks an exceptional year of fundraising in support of the life-saving service HIOWAA provides across the region.

HIOWAA brings an advanced Critical Care Team to the most seriously ill and injured patients using both a helicopter and an emergency response vehicle to deliver hospital-level care directly to the scene when it matters most. With running costs of £17,750 per day, the charity relies entirely on donations to keep flying and saving lives.
Our fundraising total was achieved through a wide range of initiatives led by their parent association (PMA), alongside remarkable individual efforts. Parent Jon Scoffin faced his fear of heights to take on a charity skydive, while a dedicated team of parents took part in the inaugural HIOWAA Ride of Champions, both contributing significantly to the final amount.
We also announced an exciting development, that the PMA will be forming a longer-term fundraising partnership with HIOWAA, ensuring ongoing support for the charity’s vital work.
Emma Stileman, Supporter Engagement Officer at HIOWAA, expressed heartfelt thanks:
“We are extremely grateful for everyone at Prince’s Mead. Not only for doing amazing things last year, but choosing to support us for longer-term, meaning your support can have even more of an impact. Thank you not just from the charity team and the crew, but our patients and their families.”
Speaking about the new partnership, Michael Walsh, Chair of the Prince’s Mead Association, said:
“We are incredibly proud of what the school community has achieved for HIOWAA. The charity’s work has resonated deeply with our families, and it feels only natural to continue our support. By forming a longer-term partnership, we hope to make an even greater contribution to the life-saving service they provide across our region.”
