Prince's Mead Families Support Winchester Basics Bank Through Harvest Appeal

Pupils from Prince’s Mead School were proud to represent their community last week as they delivered a generous collection of Harvest Festival donations to Winchester Basics Bank.

Head Boy Billy and Head Girl Florence, accompanied by Lucy Brown, Head of Pre-Prep and Early Years, visited the charity to hand over the food and everyday essentials donated by Prince’s Mead families. The collection was gathered as part of the school’s annual Harvest Festival celebrations, reflecting the strong sense of kindness and community spirit that runs throughout the school.

The donations included a wide range of essential items that will help Winchester Basics Bank continue its important work supporting local individuals and families facing hardship. The charity provides practical assistance to people across the Winchester area, ensuring those in need have access to vital food and household supplies.

For Billy and Florence, the visit was a valuable opportunity to see first-hand how the school's collective efforts can make a positive difference in the local community. As representatives of the pupil body, they were delighted to play a part in delivering the donations and learning more about the impact they will have.

Harvest Festival is always an important occasion at Prince’s Mead, encouraging children to reflect on gratitude, compassion and the importance of supporting others. This year’s collection once again demonstrated the generosity of the school community, with families responding enthusiastically to the appeal.

The school would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed. Every donation will help Winchester Basics Bank continue to support those who may be experiencing difficult circumstances, particularly as demand for community support services remains high.

Through initiatives such as the Harvest Festival collection, Prince’s Mead pupils learn that even small acts of kindness can have a meaningful impact. The generosity shown by families this year is a wonderful example of the caring and supportive values at the heart of the Prince’s Mead community.
