Headmaster’s Notes – The best memories are the ones made together

5th July 19

The penultimate week of term is always one of assorted emotions and our Speech Day and Sports Day this week have brought them to the fore. There was certainly happiness and pride as we celebrated all the achievements of the past year in our Speech Day event but there is also a hint of sadness as we prepare ourselves to say goodbye to friends and colleagues.

Our Sports Day today was a fine example of teamwork where pupils, parents and staff shared in the joys of being together as a community. This stunningly beautiful afternoon was certainly a very happy occasion with much support and encouragement for fellow team mates and personal bests achieved, but most importantly everybody pulling together in a common goal in contributing to a magnificent event in the school calendar. Our new catering partners who were also in attendance were as impressed as the Headmaster with those family picnics!

The Summer Term may soon be coming to an end yet, in true Prince’s Mead tradition, the train rolls on. In a matter of days, Year 6 will be back on stage for our production of Mary Poppins where we look forward to welcoming you back to what will be, I am certain, another very happy event indeed to round off a fabulous year.
