Winchester MP Danny Chambers Visits

18th September 25

On Friday, Prince’s Mead School in Kings Worthy, was delighted to welcome Winchester’s MP, Danny Chambers, for a visit to the school. Dr Chambers was joined by our Head, Adam King, and Neal Parker, Head of King Edward VI Senior School, with whom Prince’s Mead merged with on 1st September 2025.

During his visit, Dr Chambers enjoyed meeting pupils across the year groups and experiencing first-hand the breadth of opportunities on offer for children, aged 3 to 11 years old, at Prince’s Mead. In Year 2, he was introduced to the pupil’s new iPads and joined them as they demonstrated their coding skills. Later, he took to the sports field with Mr King for a lively game of football with Year 5, showing plenty of enthusiasm.

Dr Chambers also visited Reception and Year 3, where he spoke about his career in politics and as a vet. This sparked animated classroom debates in both year groups as pupils enthusiastically shared their views on the age-old question: which is better – cats or dogs?

Prince’s Mead Head, Adam King, commented:

“It was a real pleasure to welcome Danny Chambers to Prince’s Mead and to share with him the exciting learning and opportunities our pupils enjoy every day. His warmth and genuine interest in the pupils made for a memorable occasion for our school community and we hope to welcome him back soon.”

Danny Chambers said:

“The atmosphere was really friendly and engaging, children and staff clearly enjoyed being there. I left with a real sense of Prince’s Mead’s vibrant spirit and commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for every child.”

Dr Chambers’ visit came at an exciting time for Prince’s Mead, as the school embraces the new opportunities created through its merger with King Edward VI Senior School, strengthening pathways for pupils and ensuring the very best education from early years right through to Sixth Form.
