Headmaster’s Notes

14th February 19

It seems like only yesterday that we returned after the Christmas break. The past few weeks of term have simply flown by as we have filled every day with different challenges to inspire our children and expend their energy in productive ways. There has been a great deal to celebrate on the sports field, the Year 6 activities week, inspirational field trips, uplifting music recitals, and examinations for many on the academic front. So many of these opportunities have highlighted the encouraging progress that your children are all making.

On a staffing note, we bid a fond farewell (for now) as Mrs Jeppson departs on her maternity leave today. In her absence, we welcome Mr Barry McGonagle-Daly and Mr Andrew Hayman to our flourishing team of experienced peripatetic music teachers. I know they are immensely looking forward to inspiring our young musicians over the coming weeks and months.

We wish Mr and Mrs Thomas well as they also look forward to the arrival of their second child. As Mr Thomas departs on his paternity leave we welcome back Mrs Vicky Addey and Mrs Marion Slattery; two highly experienced former members of the Prince’s Mead staff who will be stepping in for the brief period Mr Thomas is away. Many children have already reacquainted themselves with these members of staff during their recent return visits to the school in preparation.

There is much to look forward to in the second half of term where we can share in the pleasure of so many more exciting events in our school calendar. Before that point, you will sense now that the timing is just right for a holiday break either on the ski slopes or here at home and the opportunity to brush aside those coughs and colds that we all seem to be sharing at the moment!

I wish you all a very happy Half Term break.
