Headmaster’s Notes: A festive end to Term

16th December 22

Dear Parents & Friends,

This week certainly reached a crescendo with our Final Friday Prayers ending in a riotous, hilarious and memorable alternative version of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’.  I think the teachers taking part enjoyed it just as much as the children and parents watching on. It’ll be hard to top it for next year; then again knowing PM teachers, they’ll give it a jolly good go!  The rehearsal was filmed and is available below for those who missed it or others who just need another good laugh.

This week started with the Christmas Concert and everyone who was there enjoyed the relaxed, informal evening that, of course, ended with the traditional Hippopotamus song, sung by all the children with great gusto and conviction. Christmas lunch, yesterday, was a triumph with Ondrej and his incredible team feeding over 350 children and staff in a two hour stretch. A big thank you to them for producing the most delicious Christmas lunch and, indeed, for producing lunches and teas throughout this term.

I have had such a happy first term here at Prince’s Mead and I am really looking forward to spending Christmas in Winchester for the first time. That leaves me to wish you and all your family a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
