8th July 22
Calling to mind the musical chairs that none of us will have missed in Cabinet this week, my thanks must go to my Senior Leadership Team and all our Prince’s Mead staff for navigating, with just one week to go, this busiest of weeks whilst all remaining in post and as loyal as ever to the cause! The pace of life in these final stages of term is certainly not for the faint-hearted with all that has been going on: the Year 3 campout last weekend, last night’s Year 6 cardboard camp out in Gray’s Wood, tea time concerts, house matches, the PMA AGM, and so much more. There is so much to celebrate, as we witnessed in Friday Prayers this morning, pausing to recognise proud achievements in music, drama and sport.
A hearty congratulations to the Prince’s Mead staff who were victorious at the crease in the annual staff versus parents match that took place at Easton Cricket Club last weekend. I fear the score line could have been much different had the Headmaster gone into bat and, as Mr Thomas gently reminded me, not for the better.
There will be no rest as we enter the final week of term, a time of great celebration but also tinged with sadness as we say farewell to those pupils, families and staff who have been with us for many years. We very much look forward to sharing with you these celebrations on Speech Day, that fitting finale to a fantastic year. In the meantime, wishing you all a most restful weekend.
Mr Peter Thacker
