As we complete Week 4 of this Summer Term, there are so many blessings for the Prince’s Mead community to count, although many of these come without any complacency. We are so fortunate that our children are able to spend plenty of time on our fabulous grounds each day. I am sure too that many of you, like me, enjoyed witnessing the anticipation on your child’s face with the prospect of a match this week. The return of competitive sport has been a particular highlight. Just this week, every child from Year 3 to 6 represented the School. Year 3, amongst others, enjoyed their first competitive match and what a joy to behold; the scoreline reflecting equally positively on our pupils. There is plenty of evidence that taking part in physical activity can have a profound and positive impact on mental wellbeing so what better way to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
I am sure it will not be before long that we are all able to re-connect with you as parents; the ongoing success of the extraordinary vaccination effort that is allowing so many areas of public life to return to normality in the weeks ahead; the fact that we continue to remain safe and well on the school site; and the remarkable spirit and endeavour of the Prince’s Mead community never ceases to amaze or put a smile on my face.
Wishing you a most relaxing weekend when it arrives.
Mr Peter Thacker
