Headmaster’s Notes: The Season of Hope

27th November 20

The sparkle of fairy lights on our trees and the sight of shooting stars in our Dining Hall tells me that Christmas is on its way at Prince’s Mead. There is certainly an air of expectation and magic around every corner one turns inside Worthy Park House.

In such an extraordinary year, we are determined to give our pupils the most enchanted lead up to Christmas. We simply love witnessing children near to bursting with the excitement of all that lies ahead, and many of us adults are no different! And Prince’s Mead would not be the same without the efforts of Egyptian Day thrown into the mix for good measure this week: well done Year 3!

After an uplifting festival of sporting achievement across the School in Friday Prayers this morning, I enjoyed an immensely positive and reflective meeting with the Class Representatives this morning where we recognised so much to celebrate but also plenty to get our teeth into. This feedback is so important to us as we go from strength to strength and I am thankful for the strong partnership we enjoy with our families.

Advent is one of my favourite times of the year and it has never been more important to look forward to the hope that the Christmas message brings. As the end of lockdown looms and we slide effortlessly into ‘Tier 2’, let’s not forget that Christmas is on its way!
