Headmaster’s Notes: Work hard, have fun and make history

21st June 20

Since the publication of further Government guidance to schools this week, the back rooms of Prince’s Mead have been hives of activity as we crafted a plan for the safe return to School over the coming days of those pupils who have remained at home with their live learning.

I was delighted to meet with a number of year groups today for more virtual coffee sessions to talk through our plans. Whilst we celebrate the delivery of our remote provision and the fortitude and resilience of all members of our community over the last weeks, the return of all pupils has remained a shared ambition. Our teachers want to do the right thing by the children they teach. Our pupils need as much socialisation, education and normality in their lives right now and the latest guidance gives us the flexibility to steer the right course for those pupils who remain at home. Quite simply, we cannot wait to have our whole school community back together once again over the coming days. Thank you for all that you have done in support of your children, and indeed the School, during the twists and turns of the past few months.

I hope the example of Prince’s Mead shows that, despite the challenges we have all faced, we bounce back and we continue to make our own history in the process.

I look forward to meeting more of you early next week to discuss our plans for the remainder of the term.
