Runners Up! Prep School Choir of the Year 2019

20th May 19

On Wednesday, we had the privilege to compete in the Prep Schools’ Choir of the Year Competition. Set in Cadogan Hall in the heart of Chelsea and home of the Royal Philharmonic orchestra, pupils sung to a sell-out audience who enjoyed a spectacular choral celebration. The standard was high as over 300 choristers from a number of leading independent schools presented their skills.

It is with great pride to announce that Prince’s Mead were awarded Runners Up. I know you will join me in congratulating our Concert Choir for their sterling performance and to Miss Williams, Mrs Emmott-Dart, Mrs Osborne and Mr Greenaway for their support, energy and expertise leading up to and on the day itself – always understated in their approach but achieving great things. Perhaps the moment that stood out for me was when all the participating choirs took to the stage together to perform a beautiful rendition of “Why We Sing”.

The audience of parents were visibly moved by this showing of unity and celebration of the children’s shared love for music. There is something very special about bringing young peoples’ voices together and it was lovely to hear our Choir once again in Friday Prayers.
